Grace, what is it?

Its definitions vary from; God’s ability in man’s inability, God-in man’s-Race, divine partiality in humanity, unmerited favour, God’s endless mercies etc. All these definitions have defined grace very accurately, and many of us can relate to at least one of these definitions. Grace isn’t just all these definitions but grace is also God’s character.

Have you ever looked at a situation in your life and then you say that could only have been you Jesus?

At times you write a test and you know that what you wrote down should give you a D and at most a C, but results come out and it’s an A.

Or when you miss the bus by five minutes and after lamenting and blaming your sibling for not waking you, you watch the news later that night and see the bus you missed was involved in a ghastly accident with no survivors.

How about when you couldn’t make the shortlisted candidates at a job opening by one slot and out of the blues someone is disqualified allowing you to be a part of the team.

Did you forget when JAMB for no reason added 50 marks to everyone’s score at your centre and all you needed was 50 marks to qualify for that admission.

When you were chatting with bae on the main road and got carried away and that truck with brake failure suddenly halts before hitting you.

When you engaged yourself in unprotected sex and missed your period for two months and you thought your life was over. But after three months the flow came back and you weren’t pregnant.

The doctors said you had few months to live and after ten years you are still alive today waxing stronger.

Can we also see that grace is a second chance at life? Meaning whatever mistake we made earlier, we could do better by not indulging in it anymore. Grace isn’t a license to continue any wrong doing but to see it as an avenue to desist from such because tomorrow might be too late.

Just looking at the few things I mentioned I know you would be flashing back now to those wonderful testimonies you enjoyed from the stables of grace. 50 shades of grace doesn’t mean grace is limited because grace isn’t.

I just thought we pen down at least 50 things we enjoyed this year as a product of grace. A song writer says to count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

So we all have so many things to be thankful for.

We have done the #MannequinChallenge. Now let’s do the 50ShadesOfGraceChallenge. Why not list those things God has done and you will be shocked at so many things you ought to be thankful for.

Don’t just do the challenge alone. Pass it on to friends and family.
